Liverpool Small Animal Teaching Hospital

New Linac for Small Animal Teaching Hospital Institute of Veterinary Science, University of Liverpool

We are pleased to announce the installation of a new Linear Accelerator at the SATH is now complete. The purchase of the Varian VitalBeam follows the recent installation of the Phillips MRI and Toshiba Aquilion CT Scanner, and will give SATH exceptional facilities.

The Turnkey project was completed to programme within 5 weeks, with all patient facing finishes and facilities being renewed. As is the norm, to remove and replace the redundant Linac required structural alterations which were undertaken with the minimal of impact to the facility with the major works being undertaken outside of teaching and treatment times at night and over weekends. The new machine is now fully operational and treating patients.

Professor Laura Blackwood, Head of Department of Small Animal Clinical Science commented:

"This represents a continued and significant investment from the University in cutting edge equipment for the Hospital and we are very excited about the prospect of improving treatment for our patients."

This is the 4th veterinary project for Rocare where we have installed cutting edge Radiotherapy equipment in teaching facilities across the United Kindgom, from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland to Newmarket in Suffolk in the east aand now Liverpool. Our 12 years' experience in the design and installation of radiotherapy and associated facilities for people where we have completed in excess of 80 projects provides our veterinary clients with the confidence of a contractor who has directly empolyed, dedicated site teams who have the knowledge, experience and empathy to deliver technically challenging facilities within client criteria ontime everytime.
